The Shangri-La Diet

I started on the Shangri-La Diet about 6 weeks ago.

Yes, it's crazy. Sip sugar water slowly all day, and lose weight.

I wasn't going to post about this. I just thought I'd try it for quite a while and see, and perhaps post something towards the end of the summer.

I did comment on one of Micheal Giberson's posts at Knowledge Problem on April 10 about this. Michael Giberson must've bookmarked it, because today he e-mailed wanting to know what I thought after 6 weeks.

I told the truth. While I don't own a scale, all of my clothes are looser. My wife thought I was sick because I wasn't eating and I was looking thinner. The healthy snacks from my office haven't been replaced since mid-April.

This is all very, very strange. Yet, I've been distinctly moving in a positive direction.

Yes, I may be suffering from confirmatory bias. But I seem to be confirming that I can pass that cookie jar. I know what Martha Stewart would say about that ...
