Dave Berri Joins Us at SUU
Dave Berri - one of the top sports economists - has joined the faculty in my department.
Dave brings an immediate upgrade to the research profile for our department, with 25 refereed publications, a book from Stanford University Press - The Wages of Wins, and another book in the works. Walking in the door, he has arguably the best CV on campus.
Dave will also increase our visibility, since he has published multiple op-ed pieces in places like The New York Times, and is regularly quoted in the popular press and on sports programming on the tube.
Dave also has a blog that is much better read than this one - Wages of Wins Journal - which gets hits at about 8 times the rate vX does.
Tooting My Own Horn: I chaired the search committee that snared Dave. Easiest search I've ever been involved with: we only had to have one campus visit, and our # 1 candidate out of about 150 applications took the offer.
