I just came across this photo essay from last year about a clean-up of Holt Cemetery in New Orleans.

Holt is a traditionally black cemetery, and was never many notches above a potter’s field.

Holt was a few short blocks from where we lived from 1995-2000. I posted about how it came through Katrina here.

This photo is from about 10 years ago.
