To the Editor:
I enjoy reading the column written by Gerald R. Sherratt. It is interesting and educational.
There was in error in his Sept. 7 information on the Centrum [SUU’s indoor arena], however. He stated “…the chair of Board of Trustees proposed Centrum…”
The SUSC Institutional Council sponsored a contest to name the new special events center. Of the 461 names submitted for consideration, the council chose my submission of Centrum, which is the Latin word for center.
I liked the alliteration of SUSC Centrum. The college was Southern Utah State College at the time.
I was pleased that Centrum was selected and appreciated the $200 prize, which I used to attend SUSC to renew my teaching certificate.

Gerry Sherratt was President of SUU at the time the award was made. Later he was mayor, and now an unofficial town historian.
I'd actually love to review these boxes on my shopping/lifestyle blog. i wonder if they'd send me a sample box to talk about?
