Check this village out:
If you live in just about the most desolate place on Earth, what do you do? Spruce up the place with a little paint.
A couple of thoughts …
First, the Pleasantville reference. That was the 90’s movie in which Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon are zapped back into a black and white 50’s town, and their influence causes it to bloom in colors.
Secondly, this location is every bit as drab as pictures of provincial cities in the old Soviet Union. And yet they didn’t even have paint. Capitalism is good for some things, I guess.
