This was put out as a safety video by Metro, the commuter train service in Melbourne.
It features five verses, each with 4 cute characters showing things we all know not to do because they might kill us (I love the one with the snake bite).
Anyway, the last verse lists the things not to do around commuter trains:
- Don’t stand on the edge of the platform.
- Don’t drive around a crossing barrier.
- Don’t walk across the tracks.
Would you believe I’m guilty of two of them?
In 1984 in Verona I got arrested for walking across the tracks. And in 2004 in Salt Lake, I got pulled over for making a U-turn across the train tracks (in a spot where I’d always made a U-turn when I lived there in 1991-2 … before the tracks were laid).
