New York City has now gone 9 days without a murder. The police attribute this to the cold weather.
Umm … oppressed by the cold weather, right?
They also note this is the longest murder-free streak since the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. You know … life was so easy then.
I’ve noted this pattern at vX before (here and here): crime went way down in New Orleans for months after Katrina … even though there was all sorts of stuff just laying around waiting to be taken.
