Dan Hill

Israel may treat non-Jews better than it's neighbors treat their Jewish populations, but it still treats them as second class citizens with fewer rights, and tells them quite openly that they are living in a state that is established for the benefit of people other than them. I might call that toleration, but I think respect is far too generous a term. Put yourself in that situation and ask yourself honestly if you would feel respected.

Ironically, a one state solution may be the only option left for Israelis and Palestinians, mostly as a result of Israeli policy. Then we'll really get to test Israel's commitment to democracy.
