I think radiohead is brliliant. They have gotten so much free press on this thing that they are probably going to make more than they would have with a standard contract. Everyone pays at least $1 (45 pence) for the album they have millions of people worldwide downloading. .. all goes well for them.The economic theory to go with it a la Levitt I don't want to get into.

I'm not sure where the Radiohead comment is coming from?

Were they inspired to release that album for a donation by Freakonomics/Levitt?

BTW: I never made a donation. I listened to the album once and never went back to it.
