Mike Leavitt has announced that his personal and professional papers will be collected for posterity in a new unit of the Sherratt Library at Southern Utah University.
Leavitt is currently Secretary of of the Department of Health and Human Services, and was recently Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Prior to that he was a three term Governor of Utah, longest serving governor in the country at one point, and recipient 6 times of an award for the best managed state.
This is a big deal for SUU because - while Leavitt hasn't shown much interest - there is talk of him running for President, or of being an ideal candidate for Vice President.
Leavitt is a native of Cedar City (his family owns and runs a large insurance company). He graduated from SUU with a degree in economics and business.
