I am not usually into disaster porn (definition here), but the explosion in Beirut has got my attention. This photo especially.

You can also see this in the aerials: the amber slope is grain. Lebanon imports 80% of its food, and if you look at the satellite images, there’s a single grain elevator complex at the harbor. This is it afterwards. We don’t usually think of food as getting destroyed.
